Our contribution to the Flintshire Coastal Path, a vital segment of the renowned Wales Coast Path network, underscores our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the region. Launched in 2012, the Wales Coast Path stretches an impressive 870 miles, marking a historic milestone as the first coastal path to encompass an entire country’s shoreline. Within this extensive network, the Flintshire Coastal Path covers approximately 25 miles, offering a captivating coastal experience.

Creating a Seamless Coastal Journey

Our work on the Flintshire Coastal Path, involved constructing fresh pathways, importing stone, and excavating carefully to establish a stable foundation. Each step was taken with precision to seamlessly link existing road and path sections, ensuring uninterrupted access while preserving the coastal beauty.

Our dedication to this project reflects our commitment to harmonising pathways with the environment, inviting visitors to explore Flintshire’s coastal charm.

Precision Path Construction: Blending Aesthetics and Functionality

Our primary role on the Flintshire Coastal Path revolved around path construction. These paths were meticulously crafted from a robust stone base. On top of this foundation, we applied a finely textured limestone dust finish. This strategic choice not only ensured an aesthetically pleasing surface but also maintained the path’s smoothness, allowing for versatile multi-use access. Importantly, this delicate balance was achieved without detracting from the area’s inherent natural beauty. As a result, these pathways seamlessly facilitate exploration while harmonising with the coastal environment.

Monuments and Historical Features: A Glimpse into the Past

Our partnership with Flintshire Council extended beyond the construction of pathways. We dedicated ourselves to artfully incorporating numerous monuments and captivating features along the route. These installations have been strategically positioned to serve as captivating focal points, drawing the interest of path explorers. Beyond their visual appeal, these monuments and features also fulfill a deeper purpose—they stand as poignant reminders of the area’s illustrious industrial heritage. As you embark on your journey along the path, these historical gems offer an experience that resonates with the spirit of Flintshire’s past.

Among the standout sections we constructed along the Flintshire Coastal Path are the network of paths encompassing the Bagillt Car Spares land. Additionally, we transformed the old Flintshire landfill site into a series of interconnected paths, complemented by post and rail fencing. These paths seamlessly connect to the Flintshire Gun Club site, where our work included the installation of multiple paths, substantial stone monuments, and barricades. These notable sections showcase our dedication to precision, innovation, and the preservation of Flintshire’s coastal heritage.
