Extension Groundworks

Our involvement in this project was nothing short of comprehensive. We undertook the meticulous management of a substantial extension build, navigating every intricate detail from concept to completion. The journey commenced with meticulous preparations, an initial phase during which we transformed the project site in preparation for construction.

This began with the creation of ample space around the property, a process that demanded the removal of the existing conservatory-style porch. As the property’s canvas expanded, we ventured further. Laying the foundation for what would become a transformative construction project. We embarked on the pivotal task of achieving an initial level setting, ensuring that every subsequent aspect of the project would be built on a stable and well-prepared foundation.

The next phase saw us closely following architectural plans, diligently excavating and expertly installing the footings required for the two-story building. While builders were engaged to handle the intricate brickwork and stonework aspects, our team efficiently backfilled the initial footing. This process involved precise compression of stone, laying the groundwork for the concrete floors and insulation as specified in the project plans. With every stone placed and layer compacted, we ensured that the foundation would not only meet the project’s precise requirements but also stand as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.

An integral but often overlooked aspect of our work was the management of underground services. Before the footings could be installed, we were tasked with relocating certain underground services and implementing new drainage systems. This essential groundwork was necessary to accommodate both the existing house and the forthcoming extension.
